AMRAP Nutrition Bars – Product Review and Giveaway!

AMRAP-Nutrition1

I signed up through Fit Approach as a Sweat Pink Ambassador to be one of the first 100 bloggers to review and giveaway the new AMRAP nutrition bar!  I wasn’t sure what it was, but I liked the logo, saw it was a nutrition bar, and signed up and was accepted.  So – as you guessed it – today’s post is a review of those bars.

  AMWRAP1

When they arrived, I was very excited because they were so neatly packaged. The samples included their new flavors: Fig Cacao, Cashew Vanilla and Almond Honey. I knew they couldn’t be lame if they took the time to send them so nicely.

The first thing I thought was, “who would name something AMRAP, and what the heck does that mean?”  In case your thinking is anywhere near my thinking, I’ll give you an answer:  AMRAP stands for “As Many Rounds As Possible“.  Now that’s pretty cool!  According to their mission statement, this phrase defines their philosophy.  “Through determination, intensity, and focus, we aim to inspire and empower our community to reach their full health and fitness potential.  Join us and together we will change the world.”

AMRAP bars are 100 Paleo, gluten-free, GMO-free, dairy-free and unprocessed.  So, that basically eliminates anyone from not being able to enjoy these great bars! Raw whole foods are a top priority to AMRAP because they know from experience it is clean fuel that feeds our bodies’ daily activity the best.  Their bars have an optimal research-based combination of good proteins and carbs for well-rounded athletes.

While the bar itself is over 300 calories, they are recommended for either a meal supplement or a meal replacement, and especially a pre or post-workout snack.

Another factor to consider when you balk at 300 calories for a nutrition bar is the fact that paleo diet principles do not focus on calories, but instead, it focuses on putting good, clean food into your body.  I can only think of one other company that puts all pure ingredients in their bars, so they are in an exclusive group with that perk!

And of course I tried the Cashew and Vanilla bar first.  It’s ingredients are cashews, honey, cashew butter, unsweetened coconut, egg white protein, vanilla extract and sea salt.  Go ahead, say it – YUMMMMMM!  It tasted great and I’m definitely looking forward to enjoying the other two flavors after my next couple of workouts!
