FEARLESS takes you deep into SEAL Team SIX, straight to the heart of one of its most legendary operators.
When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan, but Adam was ready: In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote “I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this Earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me.”
FEARLESS is the story of a man of extremes, whose determination was fueled by faith, family, and the love of a woman. It’s about a man who waged a war against his own worst impulses and persevered to reach the top tier of the U.S. military. Always the first to volunteer for the most dangerous assignments, Adam Brown’s final act of bravery led to the ultimate sacrifice.
FEARLESS is the intimate story of a devoted man who was an unlikely hero but a true warrior, described by all who knew him as just that—fearless.
This book, “Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team SIX Operator Adam Brown” by Eric Blehm, was an amazing read! A friend read this book sometime ago and recommended it to me, but I never took the chance to read it until now. The full name of the book is “Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team SIX Operator Adam Brown” by author, Eric Blehm.
This inspirational story is real and readers of all kinds can identify with Adam Brown’s story, both his struggles and his redemption as an American hero.
We learn about Adam’s childhood, when he was born in Arkansas but moved around with his family when he was young. By the time he reaches middle school, Adam and his family have returned to Arkansas. Adam is a regular teenage boy – he excels at football and does crazy things like jumping off a local bridge for fun.
While Adam is a hard worker, he goes down the path of drug addiction and later ends up in jail. He later accepts Christ as his Savior and finally beats his habit with the help of his wife, Kelley, who keeps him strong. He fulfills a lifelong dream of becoming a SEAL but doesn’t stop there. Adam becomes one of the best of the best – an operator for SEAL Team Six, a Black Ops division that boasts some of the most highly trained men in the military.
Through interviews with Adam Brown’s friends and family, the author shares both the low points and the high points of Adam’s life. This story shows us Adam’s hope, perseverance and self-discipline. There were parts of this book that made me sad and discouraged and other parts that were encouraging and hopeful. It was definitely an all-around patriotic book that I couldn’t put down until I had read it front to back.
I received this book from the Blogging For Books in exchange for my review. I was not required to write a favorable review, and all opinions are my own.
